So before I delve into my opinion of auction ads, I wanted to point out how much of a pain in the ass it is to start a new blog. With every other site I have ever launched it has been easy because typically I rely on members of my communities to help develop the initial content. With the blog however, I get the ever so wonderful opportunity to sit here and stare at the screen blankly wondering if I should do an intro or an actual content article. So after several hours, here you have it… No real intro, Noone is really reading this anyway… right?

I am a regular reader of www.shoemoney.com , if you dont know who Jeremy is , and you are involved in anyway with web development… Go ahead and quit any development that you are doing, because you suck at life.
Jeremy and company developed a new ad system a few months ago, www.auctionads.com . Upon first reading about what is was, I thought to myself, eh not that special. This was a poor decision on my part. To just blow off something new because “I” thought it wasnt THAT great of an idea.
The whole premise behind auction ads is that they use the ebay api and referal system to display ads on your site a la adsense style. The true beauty however is in their business model. If you are familiar with the ebay referal structure it is based on volume. So by consolidating the users of the referal system auctionads manages to throw its volume way up on the graded scale so that it is practical for not only auctionads to pay out more than you could typically make as a single referer to ebay, but to also manage to squeeze out a profit margin that you will never miss. No profit margin for right now, they are passing on 100% of revenue! I dub thee pure genious.
So how well does it perform? Well if you are one of those that needs instant gratification of seeing your $$ update every 15 mins… You will hate auction ads. There is a 2 day delay in earnings, as I can tell however all other stats such as impressions and clicks are updated almost in real time, maybe 30 min delay? While I have not made a ton with it I can see its huge potential. I run www.wranglerforum.com and I implemented it only on thread views in a kinda out of the way spot. I am seeing almost 1 % click thru rates, on a forum that is amazing. I am not sure yet on TOS for disclosing too much information, so maybe I will make another post after I get clarification from Jeremy on that, But suffice it to say, I am please with the additional income and will be launching several sites in the near future with this as the sole basis of monetization.
With that said folks im out, not a bad first post I dont guess 
now to work on this god awful theme and actually add some stuff to this default wordpress install.
